The Australian Body Art Carnivale … a Festival of Colour

Allure Professional Hair and Make-up Artists are proud to be a part of the Australian Body Art Carnivale in Eumundi, Queensland, which is held on the 3rd week-end of September every year. Make-up artists, painters, sculptors, designers, fashionistas, and lovers of all things colourful and artistic draw together as cutting-edge artists who create masterpieces using the human body as their inspiration – and canvas. The Carnivale is centred around body art in its many and varied forms – from the more readily seen art form of face painting right through to cutting-edge full body painting using airbrush, sponge and brush, as well as special effects. Allure Professional Hair and Make-up Artists hold workshops and demonstrations prior to the festival on the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and in Brisbane. We also give demonstrations and free public workshops on the day of the festival.

Gold coast Film Fantastic
Established in 2001, the Gold Coast Film Fantastic was created by members of the community in an effort to strengthen the local film industry and broaden the cultural scope of cinema to audiences in the region. For six years the event showcased some of the finest Fantasy programming available including the Southern Hemisphere premiere of Pan’s Labyrinth in 2006. In 2008, the organizers of the Gold Coast Film Fantastic decided to expand the focus of the event to include dynamic sports-themed programming and new media-based interactive opportunities. But enthusiasts can rest assured that there will be plenty of vampires, space monsters and living dead lurking in the theatres. Allure Professional Hair and Make-up Artists are directly involved with the festival with one of the directors on the Board. We also hold workshops about make-up in the film industry for those who are wishing to get into this field.
